If you built it, you understand it. If something breaks, you're the first to know and the first to fix it. Ownership isn't a performance expectation, it's the basic respect for the person whose business runs on what you made.

Say what you don't know
Guessing costs more than asking. A team member who flags uncertainty early is more valuable than one who discovers the problem after it's in production. Intellectual honesty is a job requirement, not a personality trait.

Improve the brief before you start
A vague requirement produces vague output. Before writing a line of code or opening Figma, the team member who owns the task confirms the expectation. We build the right thing the first time more often than most agencies because we ask the right questions before starting.
